About Caribbean Airlines

Caribbean Airlines is the national airline of Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana but markets itself as a carrier for the whole of the Caribbean, providing services to destinations throughout the Caribbean Islands, North America and South America. The airline launched operations on 01-Jan-2007 replacing former carrier, British West Indies Airways (BWIA). On 27-May-2011, an agreement was completed in which Caribbean Airlines acquired control over Kingston-based national carrier, Air Jamaica. Caribbean Airlines continued to service Air Jamaica’s most profitable routes and has also taken on a number of aircraft from its fleet. Both airlines continued to operate under separate brands until Air Jamaica ceased operations in 2015.
